Alavy Sos currently serves as the Director of Human Research Protection & Compliance at Weill Cornell Medicine.
In this role, Alavy oversees the IRB, DSMB (Data and Safety Monitoring Board), the WCM component of the Tri-Institutional ESCRO (Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee), and the human research compliance activities. He has also served in the regulatory and compliance field for 15 years within federal/military, private, nonprofit and academic settings.
Alavy came to Weill Cornell Medicine after serving in a lead compliance role within the U.S. Department of Navy Human Research Protection Program, in the office of the Navy Surgeon General.
