Housing

In order to take advantage of a mostly home-call system, our house staff are encouraged to live on the Upper East Side — although many choose to live elsewhere in New York City, commute, and stay in call rooms when working overnight. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital does manage several modern apartment buildings within the neighborhood, though many residents secure great, affordable rentals on the Upper East Side independently.

Memberships, Resources & Academic Allowances

We encourage our residents to begin building their own professional library. In addition to the textbooks, educational resources, and academic allowances listed below, travel to meetings (when the resident is the presenting author) is fully supported by the department. All fees associated with the Basic and Advanced examinations of the ABA are fully reimbursed provided residents attend the required educational didactic program.
