Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Find your niche.

“You find your niche, you find your place, no matter who you are, here. And that’s a beautiful thing about New York City, our department and our hospital.” - Dr. McCullough

Different perspectives and ideas keep a community productive, innovative and healthy. As a department, diversity is one of our greatest strengths and a pillar of our mission.

Make Your Match
The Make Your Match event provides medical students of underrepresented in medicine (URM) backgrounds with important information about the residency match process. Organized by the NYP/Weill Cornell residency programs, Weill Department of Medicine Office of Diversity, Cornell Center for Health Equity, and the Weill Cornell Diversity Center for Excellence, it offers a unique experience in which medical students interact with top experts from Weill Cornell Medicine.

Diversity Mentoring Cascade
A Mentoring Cascade is a form of inter-generational learning in which knowledge, values, and practice cascade from one generation of health professionals to another. Mentoring Cascade teams are comprised of underrepresented minority faculty, medical school and residency alumni, fellows, residents and medical students, allowing for mentoring up and down the training “cascade.” LEARN MORE
