The CA-1s launched the new academic year with a mini-retreat in late July. Guest blogger Ryan Lippell sent some highlights:
"Dr. Eric Brumberger kicked off the day with his annual CA-1 reorientation, where he realigned everyone's expectations, hopes, and fears following intern year. This segued into "EB's Brunch," a catered spread held at the outdoor patio space of Dr. B's building.
After noshing, the CA-1s headed to Union Square where they participated in a professionally-organized scavenger hunt that spanned the Union Square and Washington Square Park areas. They re-enacted Shakespeare scenes in front of public theaters, arm-wrestled strangers and learned about new museums (e.g., Merchant Museum). One CA-1 commented that she "genuinely learned new things about [her] co-residents; for example, that no one in [her] group of four was born in the United States."
Following the scavanger hunt, the CA-1s returned to the Upper East Side for a sit-down family-style dinner at Jones Wood Foundry, on 76th Street."
