Honors and Awards

Dr. Sheida Tabaie is the recipient of a Community Engagment Award from Weill Cornell Medicine's Clinical & Translational Science Center (CTSC). The $10,000 award provides a year of funding for Dr. Tabaie's research into and implementation of a sexual health education curriculum for refugee women in New York City.    

Two researchers from the Department of Anesthesiology are recipients of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association:

  • Dr. Philipp Schmidpeter, for his proposal Molecular determinants of the modulation of HCN pacemaker channels by cAMP.  Dr. Schmidpeter is a postdoctoral associate in the lab of Dr. Crina Nimigean.
  • Dr. Raghavendar Gari, for his proposal Molecular level characterization of conformational changes in TRPV2 channel triggered by therapeutic agents and lipids. Dr. Gari  is a postdoctoral associate in the lab of Dr. Simon Scheuring. 

Dr. Gunisha Kaur is the recipient of a KL2 Career Development Award from Weill Cornell Medicine's Clinical & Translational Science Center (CTSC). The award provides two years of funding for Dr. Kaur's research on chronic pain in refugees who have survived torture.
