The Department of Anesthesiology held its annual Resident Graduation Ceremony on the evening of Friday, June 6, 2014. The Department honored the Resident Class of 2014, named numerous award winners, and also honored several classes of Fellows completing their Fellowships in 2014. The ceremony was held at Guastavino’s banquet hall in Manhattan. The event was well-attended by the Residents, their families and guests, as well Department faculty and fellows, staff, and assorted guests.
Anesthesiology Chair Hugh C. Hemmings, Jr., MD, PhD, along with Cynthia A. Lien, MD, the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, welcomed the graduates. The presentation of the graduating Residents was led by Eric Brumberger, MD, the Associate Program Director. After honoring each graduating resident individually, Dr. Brumberger turned the podium over to Kane O. Pryor, MD, the Director of Medical Education. Dr. Pryor presented each of the Teaching and Resident awards in turn. The awards and recipients follow.

Additionally, the Resident Graduation Ceremony also honored groups of Fellows completing their Fellowships. Klaus Kjaer, MD, presented the graduate of the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship. Devin Peck, MD, presented the graduates of the Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship. Tiffany Tedore, MD, presented the graduates of the Regional and Thoracic Fellowship. All told, it was a successful evening, one that provided an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration for the graduating Residents and Fellows. A complete list of the graduates follows.
