The Departments of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center co-hosted the inaugural Tri-Institutional Anesthesiology Review Symposium, a full day of in-person lectures and hands-on training designed to advance clinical knowledge in anesthesiology. Over 100 faculty, fellows, residents and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) registered for the event, held on November 1 on the campus of Cornell Tech.

Dr. Hugh Hemmings, Jr., the Joseph F. Artusio Jr Professor and Chair of Anesthesiology and senior associate dean for research at Weill Cornell Medicine, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Hemmings, who is editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Anaesthesia, highlighted the journal's most influential papers of 2025, and discussed what the editors look for when deciding which articles to include in the prestigious journal.

Thirty-nine expert faculty from all three institutions led training at the symposium, including:
- Panels on the newest guidelines in anesthesiology and perioperative anemia and blood management
- Hands-on workshops on regional anesthesia and acupuncture, airway management, and ultrasound-guided techniques
- Problem-based learning discussions of various issues
- PRO-CON debate on pre-op pregnancy testing
