We received the February 2014 ITE (In Training Exam) results and to no surprise, the residency as a whole did extraordinarily well. Our median scores (the line in the middle of each box) far exceeded the national medians for each year. This strong showing assures me that our CA1’s and graduating CA3’s are well prepared for this summer’s licensing exams (the first iteration of the Basic Exam and the traditional Written Boards, respectively).
For anyone who is unfamiliar, the "In Training Exam" is the annual exam that the American Board of Anesthesiology administers to residents as they work towards ultimate board certification when they complete residency.
I am proud not only of the significant amount of hard work that our motivated residents put in, but also our robust educational didactic program. These impressive results demonstrate that the unique clinical experience from which Cornell Anesthesiology residents benefit is equally matched by the formal academic program in which they participate.
