Join us for a one-hour interactive session with Dr. Jason White to learn about the services offered by the Obstetric Anesthesia Division of the Department of Anesthesiology at Lower Manhattan Hospital.
During each session, we'll discuss topics related to pain management during labor and delivery. The sessions are conducted via Zoom in an open format, allowing plenty of time for Dr. White to answer your questions.
Topics
In each session, we'll cover topics including:
- Who will be part of my anesthesia care team?
- What options are available for pain management in labor from the anesthesia department? Each option is discussed in detail, including risks/benefits and effects on mom and baby.
- What happens if I need a cesarean section?
Sessions for Cesarean Section
There is a separate one-hour session for patients who know they are having a cesarean section. Topics covered include:
- What types of anesthesia are available for cesarean sections? The risks and benefits of each are discussed.
- What is expected during a cesarean section?
- What can I expect after the cesarean section?
- How is pain management after the cesarean section handled?
