Hemmings lab researchers Drs. Karl F. Herold, William Lee and department Chair Hugh C. Hemmings, Jr., and co-authors R. Lea Sanford and Olaf S. Andersen from the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Weill Cornell Medicine published “Clinical concentrations of chemically diverse general anesthetics minimally affect lipid bilayer properties” in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.
Drs. Sheida Tabaie, Gunisha Kaur and Eric Brumberger were co-authors of “Evolving State of Global Health Education for Anesthesiology Trainees,” published in Current Anesthesiology Reports, in collaboration with global health researchers in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Zachary Turnbull and co-authors Dahniel Sastow, Greg Giambrone and Dr. Tiffany Tedore published “Anesthesia for the patient undergoing total knee replacement: current status and future prospects,” in Local and Regional Anesthesia.
Dr. Stephanie Vecino was an author of "Dexamethasone and perioperative blood glucose in patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty: A retrospective study" in the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia.
Presentations
Drs. Hugh Hemmings, Jr., Nikolaos Skubas, Gunisha Kaur and Milica Markovic presented a range of educational topics covering all aspects of anesthesia and perioperative medicine at the Salzburg Medical Seminars in Austria on March 12-17. Following Salzburg, Dr. Markovic conducted a satellite seminar in Ukraine, where she taught workshops and presented topics to additional faculty and residents from 18 cities in Ukraine.
