The start of July saw two new anesthesiologists assume their roles as Chief Residents. Shawn Hansberry, MD, and Zachary “Zack” Turnbull, MD, are Weill Cornell Anesthesiology’s Chief Residents for 2014-2015. Originally from Boston, Dr. Hansberry earned his MD at Tufts University; Dr. Turnbull, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Hansberry and Dr. Turnbull have adopted an “open door policy” to “encourage resident dialogue and promote resident solidarity.” In their personal mission statement, they promise to “strive to ensure that the expectations of our colleagues are met, to maximize the quality of life at Weill Cornell, and to instill excellence, professionalism, and a dedicated spirit to the next group of trainees.”
More detailed bios of the new Chief Residents, and their mission statement, are available in the “Chief Residents’ Corner” section of our website.
