The Department of Anesthesiology is happy to note the recent receipt of teaching awards by two of our faculty members, Dana L. Gurvitch, M.D., Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, and Lori A. Rubin, M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. The award ceremony was on June 29 at the Celebration of Teaching at the Cornell Club in Midtown. Awards were given to the Clinical Faculty for Excellence in Teaching for 2014-1015.
The Celebration of Teaching was hosted by Dean Laurie Glimcher, M.D., and the awards were presented by Barbara Hempstead, M.D., Ph.D., the Senior Associate Dean for Education. Both Dr. Rubin and Dr. Gurvitch received the award for the new Anesthesiology and Critical Care Clerkship, and Dr. Gurvitch received the Dedicated Service Award for the Anesthesia, Circulation and Ventilation (taught under the Department's former residency curriculum). The Department congratulates both Dr. Rubin and Dr. Gurvitch on these outstanding achievements.
