
Saturday evening, May 16, saw many physicians from Brooklyn’s New York Methodist Hospital and its affiliated institutions under the banner of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System, including Weill Cornell Medical College, turn out for the Hospital’s annual Candlelight Gala event. The event was held at the Brooklyn Museum. Weill Cornell Anesthesiology was well-represented, with many faculty in attendance to support the development efforts of the Hospital and the NYP system.
The evening was an opportunity for New York Methodist to honor a couple members of their community with awards. The James Monroe Buckley Award was presented to Anthony D. Schlesinger, a Member of the NYMH Board of Trustees. The Lewis S. Pilcher Award was presented to Miran W. Salgado, M.D., Chair of Neurosciences at NYMH.

Showing their support were many Weill Cornell Anesthesiology faculty, including Meghan Fitzgerald, M.D., Natalia Ivascu, M.D., Arun Jayaraman, M.D., Ph.D., Lisa Rong, M.D., Ralph Slepian, M.D., Nikolaos Skubas, M.D., D.Sc., and Cindy Wang, M.D. The Department of Anesthesiology faculty on hand were happy to support the fundraising efforts and the programs of NYMH as well as the entire NewYork-Presbyterian system.
