Dr. Hoyler Accepted Into Clinician-Educator Program

Dr. Margo Hoyler, one of the Department of Anesthesiology’s chief residents, has been accepted into the Harvard Macy Institute’s Program for Post-Graduate Trainees: Future Academic Clinician-Educators.

This three-day virtual course, held in December 2020, covers two major themes: skills in teaching and learning, and scholarship in health professions education.

The program is geared towards post-graduate trainees who are strongly committed to an academic health professions education career and have at least one year of post-graduate training experience.

Applicants were required to submit a proposed health professions education project that is of interest to them and of benefit to the current or future training program in which they work or teach. Dr. Hoyler’s project aims to “help develop, support and recognize residents as clinical teachers within the department.”

“I am excited and honored to participate,” said Dr. Hoyler, “and grateful to the department for supporting me.”

The Harvard Macy Institute is an organization that provides continuing professional development for innovators in health care education.
