Dr. Gunisha Kaur, an assistant professor of anesthesiology, was selected by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) to become a term member through its Stephen M. Kellen Term Member Program.
The program provides promising young professionals from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to participate in a sustained conversation on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. Each year, a new class of term members between the ages of 30 and 36 is elected for a fixed five-year membership term.
Dr. Kaur is director of the Anesthesiology Global Health Initiative in the Department of Anesthesiology, and co-medical director of Weill Cornell Medicine's Center for Human Rights (WCCHR). Her research focuses on displaced populations such as migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
