NewYork-Presbyterian Queens (NYPQ) is a 535-bed academic tertiary care hospital that has served its extended community in Flushing, Queens since opening in the 1950s. The top-rated hospital in the borough, NewYork-Presbyterian Queen has 21 operating rooms, an endoscopy unit with five procedure rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab, two cardiac operating rooms, and a busy obstetric service. The NYPQ anesthesiology department provides anesthesia services for ~3000 deliveries including high-risk OB procedures and ~28,000 surgical procedures per year.
NYPQ is staffed with an anesthesia care team model that includes attending anesthesiologists and CRNAs. We serve as the primary clinical site for the Fairfield University SRNA program, and as a clinical site for the Columbia University SRNA program.
Services
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a 24-hour comprehensive stroke center in one of the busiest and most diverse areas in the United States. Our anesthesiologists provide services to the following specialties:
Cardiac. Our cardiac anesthesiologists provide services for open heart surgeries, TAVR procedures and electrophysiology interventions. We also provide anesthesiology coverage for intracardiac device placement, such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, ECMO, and Impella placement.
Thoracic surgery, including robotic and interventional pulmonology.
Obstetrics. Our team cares for all expectant mothers on the labor floor and for those who are having C-sections. We provide services to high-risk OB patients and participate in the delivery of approximately 3,000 babies a year.
Pediatric and neonatal surgery. Our pediatric anesthesiologists provide care to various pediatric subspecialties, including urology, orthopedics, GI, and pulmonology. In addition, our team cares for neonates needing surgical services at our level one NICU.
Orthopedics, including sports and total joint arthroplasty. We are a Joint Commission Certified Total Joint program.
Neurosurgery, including tumor resection, major spine, as well as neuro-endovascular procedures.
