It's a Match! Meet Our New Residents

The Department of Anesthesiology is pleased to announce its Match Day results for 2025. Twenty graduating medical students and two current residents matched into the residency program on March 20, the day medical students across the country learned where they will train as resident physicians.

The new class brings an impressive mix of talents and academic achievements to the department. Five are MD-PhDs, two of whom join the department as Van Poznak Research Scholars. Among the many award holders, two received FAER Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowships; another was an ASA medical student delegate. One new resident was a practicing CRNA, one was a leading participant of an acclaimed global health podcast, and at least two have worked as EMTs.

"These 22 newly matched future anesthesiologists are talented and inspiring," said Residency Program Director Dr. Eric Brumberger. "As lucky as they are to train at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine within our fantastic department, we and our patients too are fortunate that they've chosen to join us."

We look forward to welcoming the new residents on July 1. They are:
