Critical Care Faculty Positions - Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital is seeking Critical Care Anesthesiologists for our 20-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, caring for patients undergoing procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, ventricular assist devices, cardiac transplantation and ECMO. Our faculty provide medical leadership in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, participate in the staffing of the SICU and MICU, and are actively involved in our critical care fellowship and all aspects of resident education. Our team also provides critical care services to patients in the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.  Critical Care clinical rotations are about 10 weeks per year plus 25 nights of in-house call and 5 weekends of out-of-house call, which generate approximately $100,000 in additional compensation and 30 post call days, related to call work.

All candidates must be ABA BC/BE, eligible for medical licensure in New York State and board eligible/certified in Critical Care Anesthesiology. Additional fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology or Basic or Advanced TEE certification from the National Board of Echocardiography are highly desired, but not required. The full-time clinical compensation range is based on experience and subspecialty training from $350,000 - $425,000 per annum plus significant additional pay for short and long call work.

Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range listed is for full‐time employment not including bonuses, clinical incentive compensation, or benefits. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs. The above salary range for New York City based roles represents WCM’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Candidates should send a personal statement and curriculum vitae, and request three letters of reference to:
