A Kashi Bar A Day Keeps You Anesthetizing All Day?!!?

January 23, 2017

.
Today, we launched a brand new wellness initiative: healthful daytime snacks!

For as long as anyone can remember, one of the many communal activities we to do together as a department, is that the call team (residents, faculty, and CRNAs) eats dinner together, family-style, on weeknights.

And in the spirit of eating well, I have long been irked by how difficult it is for residents to make good food choices that sustain them during long workdays as they are often constrained by physical location (chained to anesthesia machines), time (15-30 minute meal sprints), and of course money (nutritious eating ain't cheap!).

Which leads me to unveil our new nutritious snack provisions, starting today — and delivered weekly thereafter — to the anesthesia library on M-3! Looking for an apple, orange, banana, or kashi bar to get you through your next eleven hour neck dissection? Come on by the Education wing, and pick up some fruit or a granola bar or two!
