The 10th International Symposium on Memory and Awareness in Anaesthesia (MAA10) was held in Helsinki, Finland on June 19-21. The symposium brings together leading scientists and physicians from around the world to present the latest research findings in memory and consciousness in anesthetized patients.
Department Chair Dr. Hugh Hemmings served as the scientific chair, and chaired the opening and closing sessions. Dr. Kane Pryor, associate professor of clinical anesthesiology, served on the scientific program committee, and gave a talk on “Anaesthetics and Fear Memory” as part of a panel discussion. Dr. Pryor also chaired a portion of the program.
