Our mission is to create an innovative, applied program of global health education, training, and translational research, which culminates in sustainable implementation work in developing nations.
Our flagship education program is based in Punjab, India. Anesthesiology attending and resident physicians travel to this developing region of the world where they act as clinical practitioners in providing medical care to local Punjabis during the days, and receive on-the-ground global health training in the afternoons. Their time at the hospitals consists of participation in the anesthetic management of patients in the operating theatres, post-operative monitoring of patients, and collection of data for research projects. What distinguishes this elective from any other residency global health training program are the daily modules designed to provide deep insight into international health, including a pre-trip syllabus.
